Not only am I autistic, but I’ve worked with kids in the past who are like this. She’s just nonverbal, no big deal. I’m still pretty new to the job but the thought used to cross my mind a lot when I worked with especially young nonverbal kids. It can be frustrating at times, I’ll admit.

As someone who works at a day program for brain injured adults, this is quite tame compared to whenever the autistic clients are having bad episodes.
